1. The Steakhouses
The Philly Steakhouse Tour is a tour of the nine major steakhouses in Philadelphia by four gentlemen that enjoy a great steak and great wine. The nine major steakhouses in Philadelphia are:
- Capital Grille;
- Ruth's Chris;
- The Palm;
- Mortons;
- Del Frisco's;
- Butcher & Singer;
- The Prime Rib;
- Barclay Prime; and
- Smith & Wollensky.
2. The Rules.
The rules are simply, but like all rules, are important. We will visit one steakhouse per month starting September 2014 and ending June 2015, with a break in December for the Holidays. We all must order NY Strip. We bring our own, very good not on your wine list, wine.
Reviews will cover five categories: (1) "the scene;"(2) bar area; (3) overall decor; (4) the service; and (5) the steak.
3. The Reviewers.
The reviewers are anonymous - except for me, thanks Google - and will be known only by their aliases.
The Rabbit: The Rabbit claims to own multiple restaurants and know a bunch of stuff about wine. I do not know if the owning restaurants is actually true, but he does apparently know about wine because he brings the good stuff.
Asia: Asia is not Asian nor does he look Asian. But, he works on Wall Street and travels to Asia or, so he claims.
Pierpont: Pierpont also works on Wall Street. I am not sure where he actually works. However, since all of the banks seem to be descendant from the House of Morgan, I named him Pierpont.
